Leader in Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment of Sleep Disorders Unveils New Name, Brand
(Cary, N.C.) The Triangle’s innovative leader in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, Parkway SleepHealth Centers, is proud to announce Dr. Khaleel Ahmed, MD, DABSM, as its full-time, in-house MD leading a team of credentialed, compassionate care professionals. Dr. Ahmed’s transition into his leadership role at Parkway comes as the organization is rebranding, unveiling a new logo and adding “SleepHealth” to its name.
“Our rebranding is to let our patients and the greater Triangle physician community know that we are providing an all-inclusive health management solution for men, women, and children suffering from sleep disorders,” said Donna Manjorin, LPN, RPSGT, Parkway’s practice director.
Parkway is in the process of updating its customer communication material as well as its website to publicize its new brand, and is actively scheduling public educational events for patients and physicians to meet staff and learn more about innovations in sleep disorder treatment.
Dr. Ahmed has been working at Parkway since April 11, 2011, building relationships with his team of 16 as they continue to develop proven effective procedures for applying their extensive knowledge to correctly identify individual patient problems and prescribe corrective treatment.
“The Parkway SleepHealth Centers staff is unmatched in the Triangle in terms of hands-on, medical experience,” Dr. Ahmed said, explaining that it is rare to find so many fully credentialed medical professionals under one roof addressing sleep disorders.
“Our team is full of caring medical professionals and longtime support staff who are sympathetic to the needs of our patients, which is essential in successfully implementing a compassionate care model,” he said.
Dr. Ahmed is starting up a cutting edge “Comprehensive Insomnia Treatment” program at Parkway, consisting of patient consultation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and neurofeedback for insomnia. This new program compliments services that Parkway SleepHealth Centers currently provides that are not typically offered by sleep centers including actigraphy, home sleep screening and Department of Transportation drivers sleep testing.
Dr. Ahmed completed his Sleep Medicine Fellowship with the Yale University School of Medicine Program at Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut. He practiced full-time sleep medicine in Des Moines, Iowa and served as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Sleep Medicine at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine before joining Parkway SleepHealth Centers.
In addition to having a full-time medical doctor on staff, the Parkway team includes professionals who are board certified in neurology, pediatric neurology and sleep medicine, as well as staff with Registered Polysomnographic Technologist certifications and a physician specializing in the treatment of adult and pediatric ear, nose and throat disorders.
Parkway SleepHealth Centers accepts walk-in patients for diagnosis and treatment as well as those referred from primary care physicians. Headquartered in Cary, Parkway has satellite offices in Raleigh and Garner. For more information, visit www.parkwaysleep.com.
