The company, which is nearing completion of a nursing facility for the North Carolina Veterans Administration (NCVA) in Kinston, is getting the word out about the need for donors through it sponsorship of a Military Tribute/Blood Donor radio campaign. "JS Clark and its employees are pleased to be a part of the Military Tribute/Blood Donor campaign to help support the needs of our communities throughout the state, while giving thanks to our brave sons and daughters defending our freedom," company spokesman Gene Kemp said.
Through its sponsorship of a radio campaign throughout the month of August, JS Clark is helping to spread the word about the need to contribute to North Carolina's reservoir of donated blood, which is extremely low this summer. Donors are being urged to visit their local hospital or blood bank as a way to show appreciation for members of the military who are putting their lives on the line every day, far from home.
The NCVA assisted care facility JS Clark is finishing is a 110,000 square-foot complex divided into four residential wings and a center core area that houses a kitchen, offices, and reception area. It features 100 private bedrooms and an HVAC system consisting of water source heat pumps with individual controls for each patient room. The water source for the heat pumps comes from geothermal well fields located in the courtyards between the buildings.
The interior finishing colors are in keeping with U.S. military colors.
"Since the NCVA facility is of great importance to our military veterans, we were sure to approach the job with honor and dignity," Kemp explained.
