RALEIGH, N.C. -- Vernon Guthrie, attorney with Myers Bigel Sibley & Sajovec, P.A. (Myers Bigel),
has been named President of the Triangle Intellectual Property Law
Association (TIPLA). The largest independent patent law firm in North
Carolina continues its strong support of TIPLA, which includes nine
attorneys as members of the organization and additional past leadership
of attorney Ken Sibley who recently served as President-Elect; Alice
Bonnen, past Treasurer; and Scott Moore, past President.

Guthrie works in the Myers Bigel
Electronics/Computer practice group, focusing on the preparation and
prosecution of patent applications in the electrical arts. Like most of
the attorneys in the firm’s other various practice groups, Guthrie has
experience and a degree in a particular technology, having graduated
from a quality engineering and science programs before earning his J.D.
from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Guthrie received his
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, summa cum laude,
from Clemson University, where he participated in a summer research
internship with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is a member of the North Carolina Bar.
The
