WASHINGTON, D.C. & SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- A team from Integrated Biometrics LLC, developers of the compact, lightest, most reliable energy-efficient FBI-compliant fingerprint scanners in the world, visited Capitol Hill recently to advocate for increased use of new enrollment and verification technology to address emerging global issues. Company Vice President David Gerulski led the visit to Capitol Hill, spending time at the offices of Senator Tim Scott and Congressman Trey Gowdy, both members of the congressional delegation representing South Carolina, home of Integrated Biometrics.
“We had meaningful discussions during our time on ‘The Hill’ explaining the role mobile fingerprint biometrics is playing in helping to secure borders, and advocating for increased use to deal with the never ending influx of refugees as well as voter identification, mobile payment verification, and national ID efforts,” Gerulski said.
Gerulski pointed to the need for international delegations led by members of Congress to visit overseas locations in order to see first-hand the successes of mobile fingerprint biometrics in the field, and identify needs that could be filled by U.S.-based industry leaders such as Integrated Biometrics.
Senator Tim Scott is active on five committees including the high profile Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Representative Trey Gowdy is best known as the face of the Benghazi Committee investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; is the Chairman of the influential Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security; and sits on the Subcommittee for Crime Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations.
The effort capped a busy week for the company, which was active at the Connect:ID international conference March 14-16 in Washington, D.C., sharing best practices and unveiling its exciting new Kojak FAP 60 Appendix F Certified ten print and roll live scanner.
“Government agencies here and abroad have been crying out for a lightweight, truly mobile ten-print scanner for the field that works in any weather and the most demanding fingerprint conditions,” Gerulski explained, adding, “Kojak is the gold standard for rigorous field-based enrollment and verification globally.”
Numerous government agencies frequented Integrated Biometrics Connect:ID booth, as interest continues to grow for reliable biometric technologies to deal with credentialing, mobility, and the threats and opportunities facing identity management. Mobile fingerprint tech was also drawing the attention of private industry sectors such as finance and healthcare as the need increases for scalable payment and verification solutions.
In addition to sharing best practices and showcasing its portfolio of fingerprint sensors, Integrated Biometrics hosted several well-respected hardware integrators throughout Connect:ID including NEC, Booz Allen Hamilton, Amrel, Northrup Grumman, Corvus ID, Tascent, Ideco, Grabba, SIC Biometrics, Speed Identity, and Mobizent.
The Kojak ten print and roll live scanner was unveiled at the show and showcased at its official launch party which drew a large, engaged crowd of more than 100 biometrics industry VIPs.
All of Integrated Biometrics scanners utilize a patented light emitting sensor (LES) thin film technology to produce smaller, lighter weight devices which are mechanically tested and guaranteed to a million touches without any impact on image quality, working flawlessly in both direct and indirect sunlight and resisting finger contaminants such as grease, oil, water, dust and chemicals.
