Myers Bigel Attorney Julie Richardson Named Winner of Business North Carolina Legal Elite in Intellectual Property Law
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Myers Bigel, the largest independent patent law firm in the Carolinas, is proud to announce that attorney Julie Richardson has been selected as the intellectual property law winner of Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite for 2019. This is the 13th time Richardson has been named to the Legal Elite by peers active in the N.C. Bar voting on the state's best practitioners in their fields.

“The fact that Julie has been recognized by her peers again and again speaks volumes to her legal knowledge and professionalism,” said Jim Cannon, Myers Bigel managing partner.

In addition to Legal Elite, Richardson was recently named to the The Best Lawyers in America© for 2019, the result of an exhaustive peer-review evaluation. She is past winner of the Triangle Business Journal’s Women in Business Award and the Pro Bono Impact Award, which she received for her work co-creating “PROJECT TOGETHER,” a program now handled by Volunteer Lawyers Project providing representation to indigent clients in domestic violence court proceedings.

Business North Carolina magazine has been publishing its exclusive Legal Elite listing of the state’s top lawyers since 2002. Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite remains unique as the only award that gives every active lawyer in the state the opportunity to participate. Each year, the magazine sends ballot notices to every member of the N.C. State Bar living in North Carolina — asking each a simple question: Of the Tar Heel lawyers whose work you have observed firsthand, whom would you rate among the current best in these categories?

Myers Bigel has multiple attorneys who have been named to Legal Elite, and the firm as a whole was ranked number one in the Triangle Business Journal's Patent Law Firms list for 2018.

Every attorney at Myers Bigel is a substantive working patent lawyer, committed to clients from first meeting through the nuts and bolts of the patent preparation, filing and approval process. The firm operates out of the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina, representing corporate and university clients located in the Carolinas, throughout the Southeast, across the United States, and in Europe and Asia.
